Boys Football Team seeks new players

3rd Oct

Are you a keen footballer looking to get involved in league football, or to change to a new team? If you are in Year 9 then Hollingbury Hawks Colts under 14s football team would love to hear from you.

Hollingbury Colts team picLast year they had their most successful season ever, winning the Under 13 League Division 4 in the Sussex Sunday Youth League and have now been promoted to Division 3.  They also got to the finals of the Under 13s Sussex Challenge Cup.

However, the team is unexpectedly short of boys going into the new season. It’s a friendly team which has been going several years and provides a good outlet for boys’ energy. Run on a volunteer basis – Dads! –  it is keen to find more players.

There are already several boys from the Fiveways area in this team.

Simon White, manager and coach said:  “It’s been a privilege and pleasure to manage these boys and to see them develop as footballers.  They are keen to stay together as a team but unfortunately, having lost a number of players for personal reasons, we need to strengthen the squad and are on the lookout for young boys willing to train hard and enjoy playing football.  So if anyone out there is up for a challenge we’d love to hear from you.”

Come and try out at a friendly training session on Friday evenings. Match days are Sundays.  Email Simon White at for more details.
