Brighton Permaculture Trust want to donate fruit juice they produce from Sussex fruit to those in need by partnering withfood distribution charity Fareshare Sussex.
Each year volunteers collect fruit that would otherwise go to waste from across the county. This is then turned into juice at the Fruit Factory in Stanmer Park. Usually thousands of bottles of juice are sold to cafés and shops across Sussex, reducing food miles and preventing waste. With many of these are currently closed due to the coronavirus crisis, loads of bottles of juice are sitting in their packing shed looking for people to refresh.
The team need support in ensuring their hard work saving Sussex fruit doesn’t go to waste and want to see the juice going to those who need it most.
They are raising funds to cover their costs. A donation of £10 meas six bottles of juice can be distributed to those in need through FareShare. Find out more and donate to prevent lots of lovely local fruit juice going to waste on the Brighton Permaculture Trust website.
