The children at Hertford Infant and Nursery School have a message for adults – smoking can harm others and they should stop smoking and start living. The entire school were given information about the harms of smoking and invited to take part in a poster competition run by Brighton & Hove City Council’s public health schools programme and supported by the Hollingdean community.
The school children expressed their concerns about second-hand smoke making them ill and affecting their lungs. They were also puzzled about why adults smoked and why they spent their money on cigarettes and not something more useful, like teddy bears!
The message from Hollingdean kids is clear – “stop smoking, start living”.
