Volunteer to ‘Love Your Local Park’ this Valentines week and support Saunders Park Edible Garden on Saturday 16th Feb.
The garden is looked after by a group of regular volunteers, and extra help is needed to plant an edible hedgerow in the community garden. Volunteering is a great opportunity to get outside and active at a friendly, fully supervised session.
Brighton and Hove Food Partnership have been running the garden over the last two years, converting a space in a neglected corner of the park into a vibrant edible community garden.
In order that everyone is well supported people are asked to arrive at either 10am or 1pm, and to stay as long as you like.
Keen to volunteer? Wear sturdy boots, bring gloves if you have them and water /a packed lunch.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided
Please register here (preferably with a phone number) so you can be contacted you on the day in case of cancellation due to terrible weather and to ensure biscuits are fully supplied!
Call 01273 234 810 with any questions.
How to find the garden: Saunders Park, behind Shabitat, Lewes Road, Brighton, BN2 4AE. Access via the path on Hollingdean Road or through the park and up the stairs next to the slide. We meet by the pond which is directly behind Shabitat.
